Call for Review of INECE Draft Training Modules
INECE has developed a five-part training course on environmental compliance and enforcement aspects of good water governance. INECE is request comments and suggestions on the modules by 12 December 2005. Please visit the modules page to download the modules and the review template.
Asian Development Bank Water Partners Initiate Performance Benchmarking Activities
The Asian Development Bank's commitment to performance benchmarking gets a boost as two water partners build their capacity for it this September. National Water Sector Apex Bodies (NWSABs) will begin training on benchmarking tools and peer review process, while the Network of River Basin Organizations (NARBO) will launch its performance benchmarking system.

New Publication on Collaborative Actions for Sustainable Water Management
The World Business Council on Sustainable Development's recent "Collaborative Actions" PDF document icon publication identifies steps that business can take, in interaction with other stakeholders, to ensure sustainable water management.

World Bank Conference on Water Security: Policies and Investments
The meeting focused on how the Bank can support both institutional reform and investment in infrastructure. There is an increase in overall World Bank lending for water projects, especially for water supply and sanitation, and irrigation. At the same time there is an increasing interest in large water infrastructure, including hydropower. The full presentations are available online at Water Week 2005.
New Online Resource on Water Law in Africa
IWMI has released 33 papers from its January 2005 workshop, "African Water Laws: Plural Legislative Frameworks for Rural Water Management in Africa."

OECD GFSD Conference Financing Water and Environmental Infrastructure for All
The GFSD Conference of Financing Water and Environmental Infrastructure facilitated a dialogue between OECD Members and non-Members on financing water and environmental infrastructure. Discussions paid particular attention to the needs of poor and vulnerable groups who may be adversely affected by increases in tariffs, and to the contributions that capital and financial markets can play in the provision of water services.
