Building a Framework for a Global Training Professionals Network

Call for INECE Participants to Get Involved

Capacity building is one of the main themes within the environmental compliance and enforcement community. In order to encourage and support training activities, INECE is assessing the benefits of forming an International Network for Environmental Compliance Training Professionals.

The objectives of this network include:

  • Sharing information concerning training best practices and lessons learned;
  • Exchanging and/or combining training programs and materials;
  • Giving support in setting up training programs and training centers;
  • Maximizing resources; and
  • Providing a tool to evaluate training efforts.

An International Network for Environmental Compliance Training Professionals could result in improved capacity and competency of environmental compliance training professionals, better sharing of best practices and lessons learned, improved training materials, and greater leveraging funding. An effective, functional network will ultimately lead to greater professionalism for compliance and enforcement personnel, better environmental compliance and a more level playing field.

As the network develops, it will focus on training professionals and centers in all countries and regions that are responsible for the training of environmental inspectors and other enforcement professionals. International organizations and NGOs who are developing and promoting capacity building activities and/or materials on this subject are vitally important to the network as well.

If you wish to explore opportunities to assist INECE in its work to shape the goals and activities of such a network or would like to share any thoughts or comments, please contact Ms. Machteld Brokerhof, VROM-Inspectorate at .
