Botswana - Ministry of Minerals, Energy and Water Affairs
Portfolio responsibility to coordinate development and operational activities in the energy, water and minerals sector.

Burkina Faso - Direction de la Météorologie Nationale
Addresses meteorology and its applications in Burkina Faso. Liases with the World Meteorological Organisation and national meteorological services in other countries.
Burkina Faso - Ministre de l'Environnemenet et de l'Eau
Responsible for environment protection, fight against desertification, water related policy making, water legislation and sanitation, hydraulic infrastructures development and management.

Chad - Directorate of Water Resources and Meteorology (DREM)
Mission is to create and manage networks of meteorological, hydrological, and agrometeorological measures, as well as to evaluate the impacts of these factors on the socio-economic situation of the country.
Kenya - Institute for Meteorological Training and Research (IMTR)
The vision of the institute is to be the leading education and training provider in the fields of weather and climate in the region. To this end, it focuses on meteorology, agro-meteorology, aeronautical meteorology, hydrology, remote sensing, computer application, computer aided learning, Web site development, and research in various meteorological fields.
Kenya - National Directorate of Water (DNA)
Responsible for water policy making and its implementation, strategic and integrated planning on the management of water resources as well as the provision of water supply and sanitation services.

Bi-national project between the Kingdom of Lesotho (KOL) and the Republic of South Africa (RSA) aimed at harnessing the water resources of the highlands of Lesotho to the mutual advantage of South Africa and Lesotho.

Independent company associated with the University of Cape Town. It provides a specialist consulting service to public and private organizations on the sustainable management of coastal and inland aquatic systems.
South Africa - The Contact Trust
Not-for-profit independent organisation that strives to increase the knowledge and capacity of ordinary people to influence government policy and legislation. Contact's focus is on natural resource policy and legislation.
South Africa - The Mvula Trust
Works to improve the health and welfare of poor and disadvantaged South Africans in rural and peri-urban communities by increasing their access to safe and sustainable water and sanitation services.
South Africa - Water Research Commission
Statutory organisation instituted according to the Water Research Act. The mandate of the WRC includes (1) Promoting co-ordination, co-operation and communication in the area of water research and development , (2) Establishing water research needs and priorities (3) Stimulating and funding water research according to priority (4) Promoting effective transfer of information and technology (5) Enhancing knowledge and capacity-building within the water sector.
Tanzania - Ministry of Water
Mandate includes the Development, review and further improvement of water and sanitation policy; also mandated to facilitate, coordinate, monitor and regulate provision of water and sanitation services to the public with a gender perspective.

Uganda -Ministry of Water, Land and Environment
Promotes and ensures the rational and sustainable utilization and development and safeguard of Land and water resources and environment, for social and economic welfare and development as well as for regional and international peace.

Zimbabwe - Institute for Water and Sanitation Development (IWSD)
Non-profit non-governmental organisation which aims to assist in the achievement of sustainable development of water resources and waste management through the provision of support to development agencies in Zimbabwe and the Southern Africa region.
