The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is the world leader in certifying forest products are derived from timber harvested using sustainable forest management practices.

Canada's National Sustainable Forest Management Standard
State specific sustainable forest management certification schemes have emerged across Europe, North America and Latin America. In some cases, e.g. Canada where 47.4 million hectares of forest have been certified as of January 2005, these schemes are emerging as the national leader in forest certification.
