E-dialogue on Implementing and Using ECE Indicators

INECE invites you to participate in an upcoming e-dialogue on environmental compliance and enforcement indicators. This e-dialogue, which is the second in a series of discussions on the development of environmental compliance and enforcement indicators, will encourage participants to present specific examples of their experiences implementing and using environmental compliance and enforcement (ECE) indicators.

Dates: Tuesday, 15 February - Tuesday, 1 March 2005
Moderator: Michael Stahl, Director, Office of Compliance, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
Location: INECE Indicators Board

Participants may visit the discussion at any time during these dates to post comments, view responses, and to present questions to the moderator and other participants. Participants are invited to describe their personal experiences implementing and using environmental compliance and enforcement indicators and share lessons learned.

The following questions will be used to guide the discussion:

  • What steps has your organization taken to design, test, and implement ECE indicators? Which steps have worked and which have not?
  • What pilot projects have your organization implemented, and what are the lessons learned from this experience?
  • How has your organization used ECE indicators to manage its programs?
  • What procedures/methodology has your organization used to analyze and interpret ECE indicator data? What worked and what did not?
  • In your experience, what are benefits of using indicators to manage ECE programs?

Please visit the INECE Indicators Forum to access the discussion. Background information on ECE indicators, including an introduction to ECE indicators and a summary of the first e-dialogue on "Good Practices for Identifying ECE Indicators," is also available on the indicators Web page.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Ken Markowitz at the INECE Secretariat at inece@inece.org. We look forward to your participation.
